Before starting this term, I was worried about my ability to focus on the required curriculum. UoPeople has many reading assignments which I thought I couldn’t complete due to my lack of focus. Surprisingly, I got back into the zone and completed all the boring study materials. I spent hours reading through short stories, then re-reading them again to quote them for assignments. My studies in college helped me stay focused for longer.

I’m doing well in my studies and hope I can get the desired grades I am seeking, but more than the grades I’m loving the entire process. The only thing I miss in college is the interaction with my classmates. In my group no such interaction happens, other than the mandatory weekly forum assignments. For the last few weeks, I became the first person to post the forum assignments. After which I wait and I wait for others to post theirs. Sometimes I get bored waiting and then get annoyed by all the last minute entries.
I’m doing well in my studies because I’m working really hard for it, or maybe the course is just too easy. Many of my classmates who showed huge excitement in the first week, sadly dropped off the course by the middle of this term. It surprises me because English Composition 1 is a mandatory course and is a prerequisite for studying at UoPeople; what were they thinking? It can be a huge pressure if you don’t have the time and mental commitment to the studies. So I suggest everyone who wants to ace their studies should take it seriously.
This week I got to relax a bit because the workload was not much. I read a long short story “The Elephant Vanishes” by Haruki Murakami. Other than my studies, I continued learning core Node.js by following the tutorial. I’m also reading this excellent book “Behind the Cloud” by Marc Benioff, the founder of Salesforce.com
Okay, so that’s it for this week and I hope to write again next time.
